All course start dates are dependent on candidate enrolments. Courses we run may have a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 12 candidates. Face2Face courses will run if Covid permits. Candidates who apply for a face2face or mixed mode course will need to be aware that we may need to move to an Online delivery mode if necessary.

2024 CELTA DATES

MARCH 2024

COURSE LENGTH: 10 WEEK
TYPE OF COURSE: FULLY ONLINE
COURSE DATES: MONDAY 18 MARCH - SATURDAY 25 MAY

Trainees will need to:

attend scheduled sessions with CELTA trainers via Zoom on 2 or 3 times per week.
log into the Cambridge Moodle platform and complete the course units in their own time.

Asynchronous learning will take place via Moodle, Onedrive and via our Celtaatelh website. Trainees will be given log in details so they can enter these sites and use the material to study and complete all course units, assignments, upload lesson plans etc in their own time.

Scheduled sessions:

Monday and Thursday from 18:00 to 21:00 attendance required live online via Zoom. Any Bank holiday Monday sessions will be moved to an alternate day and we will discuss this with trainees when we meet via Zoom on orientation day.

MAY 2024

COURSE LENGTH: 8 WEEKS
TYPE OF COURSE: MIXED MODE
COURSE DATES: MONDAY 27 MAY - SATURDAY 27 JULY 2023

Trainees will need to attend:

some sessions with tutors via Zoom
50% of teaching practice via Zoom
50 % of teaching practice in person at English Language House

Scheduled sessions:

Monday to Friday from 18:00 to 21:00 attendance required face2face at Elh during week 1 and week 2 of the course.
Monday and Thursday from 18:00 to 21:00 attendance required live online via Zoom from week 3 to week 8 of the course.

There will be a reading week mid way through the course.

JULY 2023

LENGTH OF COURSE: 5 WEEKS
TYPE OF COURSE: MIXED MODE
COURSE DATES: FRIDAY 29 JULY - SATURDAY 31 AUGUST

Trainees will need to attend:

some sessions with tutors via Zoom
some sessions with tutors in person at English Language House.
50% of teaching practice via Zoom
50% of teaching practice in person at English Language House.

Scheduled sessions:

Monday to Friday from 18:00 to 21:00 attendance required face2face at Elh during week 1 and week 2 of the course.
Monday and Thursday from 18:00 to 21:00 attendance required live online via Zoom from week 3 to week 5 of the course.

SEPTEMBER 2023

COURSE LENGTH: 5 WEEKS
COURSE TYPE: MIXED MODE
COURSE DATES: MONDAY 2 SEPTEMBER - SATURDAY 5 OCTOBER

Trainees will need to attend:

some sessions with tutors via Zoom
some sessions with tutors in person at English Language House.
50% of teaching practice via Zoom
50% of teaching practice in person at English Language House.

Scheduled sessions:

Monday to Friday from 18:00 to 21:00 attendance required face2face at Elh during week 1 and week 2 of the course.
Monday and Thursday from 18:00 to 21:00 attendance required live online via Zoom from week 3 to week 5 of the course.

OCTOBER 2023

COURSE LENGTH: 10 WEEK
COURSE TYPE: FULLY ONLINE
COURSE DATES: MONDAY 7 OCTOBER - SATURDAY 14 DECEMBER

Trainees will need to:

attend scheduled sessions with CELTA trainers via Zoom
log into the Cambridge Moodle platform and complete the course units in their own time

Possible scheduled options for sessions with trainers:

Option A - Monday and Thursday from 18:00 - 21:00 attendance required via Zoom
Option B - Friday and Saturday from 10:00 to 13:00 attendance required via Zoom

We ask trainees to give us their first choice and second choice options and we will then select the days and times that are best for the majority of the group.

2023 CELTA FEES

The CELTA fees have remained the same.
We have decided not to increase our fees in 2023.We feel this is the only fair thing to do considering the current economic climate.

COURSE FEE
The CELTA course fee is £1,450 inclusive of the Cambridge Assessment English fee. It does not include the CELTA application fee of £100 which is paid when a candidate applies for the course by completing the CELTA application form.

The course fee is reduced by £100

if a candidate make full payment within 14 days of their acceptance, when the course start date is 28 days away, or
if a candidate make full payment within 24 hours if the start date is less than 28 days.

WHAT TO PAY AND WHEN
To apply you:

Pay an application fee of £100 when submitting the application form

To confirm your place on the course:

Pay the course fee of £1,450

This is reduced to £1,350 if candidates make full payment within 14 days/or within 24 hours of acceptance.

ADDITIONAL EXPENSES
A £20 refundable deposit to join the CELTA library entitles face2face trainees to borrow books and resources from our well-stocked ELT library during the course.

It is also a good idea to buy some books for reference if you wish. See the recommended book list for details.
