ADVICE FOR VISA STUDENTS
English Language House is happy to accept genuine students who are interested in coming to England to improve their English and who need a student visitor visa to enter the UK. When you apply to study at English Language House with a student visitor visa you may need to show evidence that:
- you are a genuine student
- you have enough money to pay for your course, your accommodation and your living expenses while you are here
- you have a reason to return to your country at the end of your English course
- you have a reason why you want to come to the UK to learn English rather than learn English in another country
- you have a reason why you want to study English at English Language House in Milton Keynes, UK rather than to study in another school or another town in the UK
- you do not intend to work while you are living and studying English in the UK
- you do not indent to use the NHS for treatment that may not be available or is too expensive in your country
- you do not intend to stay after your student visa has expired
- you are of good character eg you are an honest person, hardworking, a good student etc
- you have a ticket to return to your country at the end of your course or enough money to book a ticket to return
- if someone else is paying for you eg a mother or father, you must be able to show how they are related to you and why they have agreed to pay for you to live and study in the UK
- if you are leaving your job to come to study, you must show evidence that either your boss has agreed to give you leave to come and study and that he will give you your job back when you return or that you have another job that you will start when you return to your country after the end of your studies. It is also important to show how learning English is important and why better English will be important in your job in future
- if you are leaving your University to come to study, you must show evidence that this is a good idea and why it is necessary either to your University studies in the future or to your job in the future. If you are taking a break from your University studies and intend to return to your University to finish your studies after your English course can you prove that the Dean in your University has approved this break and that he thinks it is a good idea?
It is important to be able to show very clear evidence of all the above, which applies to you. If you cannot show clear undisputed evidence then it is possible that the ECO may think you are not a genuine student with genuine reasons to come to the UK to improve your English and the ECO may reject your visa application.
Clear undisputed evidence may for example be:
eg (i) a bank statements for the last 4 months clearly showing your name on the bank account and a healthy amount of money or
eg (ii) show a signed letter from the Dean of your University on University headed paper showing that he/she agrees to you taking time away from the University to improve your English in the UK and explaining why this is a good idea and how this will help you in your studies at this University and/or your career prospects in future.
