ONE2ONE AND SMALL GROUPS
ENGLISH COURSES FOR ADULTS WHO PREFER AN ALTERNATIVE WAY TO STUDY
ALTERNATIVE STUDY WITH ONE2ONE CLASSES for students who prefer to learn on their own.
ALTERNATIVE STUDY WITH TUTORIALS for students who can work outside the classroom.
STUDENTS CAN CHOOSE FROM THE FOLLOWING:
ONE2ONE COURSES are private lessons. Students can book these anytime. They can book the number of hours per week, the number of weeks per course and the day and time of classes. It is possible to combine a One2One course with one or more of the other courses.
TUTORIALS are meetings with a tutor during which students can discuss their English language needs, their progress and the work they can do to improve their English further. Basic tutorials are available to all students at ELH. Tutorial As and Tutorial Bs are a new way to study for students who like autonomous self directed learning. During their tutorials ( A or B) tutors will talk to the students and help them identify their language needs. Tutors will then give students “study packs” to help them work on the areas of language they want to improve. Each study pack will contain material for guided learning to help students improve the English they think is most important for them. The tutor will meet the students each week, give them feedback on their work and make suggestions on how to improve further.
E-LEARNING COURSES are courses that takes place online. Student can follow this course from anywhere in the world and do not need to attend classes at our location in the UK. A combination of syncronous and asynchronous learning will be possible. Days and times will be agreed prior to the start date of the course.
FREE CLASSES are part of our teacher training programmes. Most of the classes are taught by trainee teachers who are training for the Cambridge University CELTA (the Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults). Classes are FREE for ELH students but there is a small charge for non ELH students.
BUDGET CLASSES are afternoon classes where students can study for only £5 per hour. Teachers who teach the Budget Classes are qualified; they may be newly qualified, having just completed a CELTA course or equivalent, or they may be doing a post graduate DELTA course at ELH. All Budget class teachers are monitored by our Academic Manager, more senior teachers and teacher trainers to ensure that lessons are taught to a good standard.
