IN ACCEPTING A PLACE ON THE DELTA COURSE YOU AGREE THAT ALL WORK YOU SUBMIT WILL BE YOUR OWN WORK.
We need all candidates who accept a place on our Delta course to produce work that is their own and to ensure that nothing they submit will be plagiarised.
Plagiarism includes but is not limited to:
MALPRACTICE PROCEDURE FOR TEACHING QUALIFICATIONS:
Extended written work (CELTA and DELTA Modules Two and Three)
Step 1 – Suspected malpractice is identified As with written examinations, anyone can suspect and report malpractice for extended written assignments. This can include: candidates, invigilators, centre staff, tutors, assessors etc. These suspicions are reported to the Centre who will complete a Malpractice Report Form from the Cambridge English Support Site for centres to communicate the suspicion to Cambridge English for scrutiny. Cambridge English internal staff can also raise suspicions of malpractice, primarily using plagiarism monitoring software and anomalies discovered during standardisation activities. Step 2 – Malpractice case is created Cambridge English assessment staff will gather all available information from report forms and statistical analyses to form the basis for the case. Checks will include (but are not limited to) the following types of analysis:
This statement is an opportunity for the candidate to represent their view which will be taken into consideration as part of the investigation. Step 3 – Preliminary review and investigation Cambridge English will review the information gathered (see below) and this will be considered at the Malpractice Review Panel meeting. This will include:
If it is thought that there is evidence of malpractice, all information will be taken to the Malpractice Review Panel to be discussed. Step 4 – Malpractice Review Panel The Malpractice Review Panel will discuss all the evidence and make a final decision regarding the outcome. The Malpractice Review Panel includes Assessment Specialists/Cambridge English Assessment staff who have not been involved in the investigation. The decision will be arrived at in a fair and independent manner and a malpractice report completed. Step 5 – Outcome There are 3 possible outcomes:
For DELTA Module Two, candidates who have their results withheld may submit a new internal and/or external assignment, consisting of Background Essay, Lesson Plan, Assessed Teaching, and Reflection and Evaluation. This will be confirmed in the Outcome letter that the candidate receives. For DELTA Module Three, candidates who have their results withheld may submit a new assignment on a new specialism in the next session. This will be confirmed in the Outcome letter that the candidate receives. Step 6 – Appealing a decision A candidate can appeal against a final malpractice decision by requesting a Stage 1 Appeal via their centre. Centres can access detailed information via the Teaching Awards Appeals Procedure on the Cambridge English Support Site for centres. Additional information:

REFUNDS AND CANCELATIONS
What happens if ELH cancels a course?
What happens if you change your mind?
Elh needs to inform Cambridge English in advance which Delta course we will run and we rely on candidates giving us accurate information about the dates and times they can attend. When candidates choose their start date/s this is understood to be a true and accurate indication of the date/s candidates can attend.
What happens if you want to withdraw?
What happens if the date/s of the course change?
If Elh cannot offer you a place on any of your chosen start dates and if you do not agree to an alternative start date Elh will refund your application fee. However, if Elh needs to delay a start date by a few days due to circumstances beyond their control, no refund will be issued.
EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES
Although candidates who withdraw are not entitled to a refund, in “exceptional circumstances” candidates may, at Elh's at discretion, be given a credit note to be used to attend a future course. Candidates who have started a course and are unable to complete may sometimes be given permission to defer completion to a later date. Deferrals must always be approved by Cambridge. Candidates must explain in writing the “exceptional circumstances” they want us to consider and must provide proof to authenticate what they claim eg hospital admission for emergency operation, etc Elh will always try to help, whenever possible, so that candidates can complete the course successfully.
COOLING OFF PERIOD
Your cooling off period is 14 days after submitting your application form. If you wish to withdraw your application you should do so in writing. Note 7.0 above, which deals with “changing your mind about your start dates’.
Your 14 day cooling off period after application:
After the cooling off period you cannot cancel your course and you will be liable for the full course fees when issued with an "unconditional offer". If during these 14 days you decide to cancel, you must email the Elh office as follows:
“My name is …………………. and I applied for the Delta course at Elh. I am no longer interested in attending this course. Please can you cancel my application.” |
