INTRODUCTION TO TEFL
The Introduction to TEFL course is offered by our teacher training team at English Language House. This is short course which is delivered mostly online with trainer led synchronous sessions and self directed asynchronous learning completed in your own time.

The Introduction to TEFL is a teacher training course which will aim to introduce you to the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language. This is a short introduction course which will give you a taste of what it is like to teach English to international students in a variety of environments.
ABOUT THE INTRODUCTION TO TEFL COURSE
The course aims to introduce you to the world of TEFL.
You will observe qualified experienced teachers teaching classes and you will learn about TEFL methodology, language analysis and lesson planning. You do not need to have any previous teaching experience and you do not need to have achieved native speaker competence in English in order to attend the course. Non-native English speakers who attend this course should ideally be of Intermediate level or above. THE INTRODUCTION TO TEFL CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT
Once you complete the course you will be sent your ELH Introduction to TEFL Certificate of Achievement.

Who awards The Introduction to TEFL Certificate? The course is administered by English Language House and the Certificate of Achievement is issued by us. What is TEFL or TESOL? 'TEFL' stands for Teaching English as a Foreign Language and 'TESOL' stands for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. They are terms used to describe the industry you will be introduced to when you successfully complete your Introduction to TEFL course with English Language House. Who recognises The Introduction to TEFL Certificate of Achievement? The Introduction to TEFL Certificate of Achievement is accepted as an indication of completion of the course by English Language House. It signifies that you has undergone some initial training in the Teaching of English as a Foreign/Second language and have achieved a good foundation on which to build upon should you wish to continue with a CELTA or Trinity TESOL training course. The Introduction to TEFL Certificate of Achievement is a good foundation for further training but cannot guarantee that you will be able to find employment as an EFL/ESOL teacher or teaching assistants. Why apply to do the Introduction to TEFL? If you are unsure of your interest in teaching English as a foreign language or you do not wish to attend the full CELTA or Trinity TESOL just yet, then the Introduction to TEFL is a good way to find out if Teaching English as a Foreign Language is for you. If you are planning to travel abroad to teach English and you know that you will not require a formal recognised qualification to do so, then the Introduction to TEFL may be a suitable course to complete. The days and times of the course.
The course may take place live online via Zoom or, if there is sufficient interest, it may take place face to face in our classrooms at English Language House. The course will take run over two days; eg either on a Friday and Saturday or over two consecutive Saturdays.
It may be possible to hold sessions on other days and/or times if a group of 6 or more book to study together. What you will need to do in order to complete the course successfully:
