CELTA PRE INTERVIEW TASK

You will need to complete both the CELTA Application Form and the Pre Interview Task so that our trainers are able to assess your suitability for the course.

THE PRE INTERVIEW TASK:

The Pre interview task is a set of activities and questions we ask you to complete so that we can get an overall impression of your English language level, your strengths and weaknesses in English, your awareness of how language works and your ability to analyse language and draw your own conclusions about its meaning and form. Your answers to these questions will help us to assess you ability to complete the course you have chosen successfully.

The task will help the trainers assess your suitability for the course you have selected and they may then offer you an interview for entry to your chosen course eg intensive, part time, online, mixed mode etc. Candidates who are not offered an interview may be asked to improve some aspect of their skills, knowledge and/or ability in certain areas and encouraged to re-apply again once these have been achieved. The reason we do this is to ensure that we give all candidates the very best opportunity in completing their CELTA course successfully.

You cannot pass or fail the pre interview task so do your best but please don't get someone else to do the task for you! If you want to research some of the language using a reference book that's fine but you must make sure the work you submit is your own otherwise the assessment we make will be inaccurate. It will also give you some good practice of what to expect during the course. The CELTA course is an initial teacher training qualification. It is learner centred and great emphasis is placed on the learner experience.
