TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR EXAM ENTRY
EXAMINATION ENTRY FEES
Examination entry fees must be paid within 3 days of submitting your exam booking form and no less than 8 weeks before the exam date. If no payment is made we cannot hold a place for you in the exam you have selected. Examination entry fees are non-refundable unless ELH has to cancel an exam on the date you have selected due to low candidate entries. In exceptional circumstances candidates can email the Elh Office, no less than 6 weeks before the examination date, with official proof of a medical or other reason why they cannot sit the exam. The Elh Office will take into consideration the exceptional circumstance described and may, at their discretion, either (i) issue a partial refund of the exam entry fees or (ii) transfer the candidate to a future session at a lower entry fee.
HOW TO PAY AND WHEN
Payment can be made via our website within 3 days of submitting your exam booking form and no less than 8 weeks before the exam date. When booking for 3 or more candidates we can issue an invoice which can be paid by bank transfer. Please request this by email no less than 10 weeks before the exam date. Full payment of the invoice must be made within 3 days.
EXAM GROUP ENTRIES
If you have a group of adult students who want to sit the same exam on the same day please contact us to let us know. We can accept adult groups of 4 students or more to sit an exam on the same day.
ENGLISH FOR SCHOOL EXAMS
Schools that have students who wish to sit one of the English for Schools exams should book a group of 6 candidates or more to sit the same exam on the same day. Sometimes it may be possible to accept a smaller group but only if the exam is already taking place because another school has booked for 6 or more students.
Schools are responsible for their candidates and must ensure they follow the procedure required for entry and participation of an exam. They will also need to provide adult supervision of their under 18 candidates during the examination date/s.
Schools which book less than 6 candidates do so at their own risk as, if one or more of their candidates withdraws or is unable to attend the examination for any reason, this may leave their group with only one candidate and the remaining candidate may be unable to complete the Speaking Test and may not receive a grade as a consequence. Cambridge Assessment English and the ELH Open Examination Centre will be unable to approve a refund or the use of a Dummy Partner for the Speaking Test in such circumstances.

The closing date for group bookings is 10 weeks before the examination date and full fees, as shown on your invoice, must be paid no less than 8 weeks before the examination date. Late entries for bookings received less than 8 weeks before the examination date may be possible, if there is space and providing there is sufficient time to process these. Late entries may incur an exam late entry fee in addition to the examination entry fee.
EXAM LOCATION
The Exam location will be confirmed on the candidate exam timetables that we will email to candidates.
TIMETABLES
Candidates must make sure that they are free on all the dates and times that their exams may take place. Sometimes it may be possible to do all the papers on the same day but usually we may do the Listening and Speaking papers on a different day either up to 6 days before or up to 6 days after the written paper. Candidates must make sure they are free during this time and can come to a listening and/or speaking test on a different day if necessary.
Candidates will receive confirmation of their listening and speaking tests no less than two weeks before the examinations. They will also receive details of the times of all papers they will sit during the written exam.

WHAT WE WILL EMAIL TO CANDIDATES
We will email all candidates with their exam timetable and include:
- Detailed instructions about their exam
- The examination rules and regulations
- Maps of the location of their exam
PROOF OF IDENTITY
Candidates must bring to each examination:
- their passport - without this a candidate will be unable to sit their exam
- their name and signature that they used when they registered
- all their timetable documents
CANDIDATE CHANGE OF ADDRESS OR EMAIL
If a candidate changes their address or email they must email us immediately and let us know. If we do not respond they must telephone to make sure their email did not go into "spam" and that we know about this change. It is very important because we will always send a candidate's exam timetable and important information to the last email the candidate gave us.
PHOTOGRAPHS
On the day of the speaking test we may need to take a photograph of each candidate for Cambridge. This is to check ID and make sure the correct person is taking the test. Candidates must sign a consent form to agree to this. If a candidate refuses to sign this form and/or allow their photograph to be taken they will not be permitted to sit their exam.
COMPLETE THE EXAM BOOKING FORM
Complete the exam booking form no less than 8 weeks before the examination date. Late entries may be possible after this date but they may incur an additional late entry fee. To find out if we can accept late entries WhatsApp us on 07942 671256 to check.
