TUTORIALS AND GUIDED LEARNING

A TUTORIAL is a 15 min meeting between a teacher and student to talk about the student's progress in English and help the student improve further through guided learning tasks.
LOCATION
Tutorials can take place Face2Face at Elh or Live Online via Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A TUTORIAL
During a tutorial the teacher will talk to the student about his/her progress, ask him/her about their language needs and ask him/her if they need any extra help to improve their language needs.
The teacher may give the student a "study pack" or extra work to do in their own time to help them work on the areas of English they need to improve. The teacher may meet the student once a week or once every two weeks to check on the student's progress, give them feedback on their work they have completed and make suggestions on how to improve further. WHAT AREAS OF ENGLISH ARE INCLUDED IN THE STUDY PACKS?
Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking, Grammar, Vocabulary, Exam focus, Business English, Medical English, ESP ( English for Special Purposes) |
During the TUTORIAL the teacher will ask the student about his/her progress in English and may make suggestions about what the student can do to improve his/her English further.
TUTORIAL STUDY PACKS:
A tutorial study pack is a folder with material you can use in your own time to complete certain tasks or exercises in English. Each "study pack" will contain material for guided learning to help the student improve the English . Study packs can help students to focus on the specific areas of English that they need to improve. Your teacher may give you a tutorial study pack to complete if
DAYS AND TIMES OF TUTORIALS
We will agree on the days and times of your tutorials at the start of your course. You must make sure you attend your tutorial on these days and times. If you miss your tutorial we cannot make it up on a different day.
WHERE CAN STUDENTS COMPLETE THE WORK IN THEIR STUDY PACKS?
Students can do the work at home, in the Library or in a room at ELH when this is free. |
HOW TO BOOK YOUR TUTORIALS AND GUIDED LEARNING:
To book your tutorials please complete the form below and pay the tutorial fee. After this the Elh office will arrange the day, time and location of your tutorial. An elh teacher will give you a "tutorial pack" to work on and will meet you for 15 mins each week to discuss your progress and set new targets for you to work towards each week.
