Applicants for a teaching position will need to have a CELTA, Trinity TESOL, or equivalent initial teaching qualification, a degree (e.g. BA, BSc) and the right to work in the UK.
ELH will need to take up references so please ensure you send us the names and contact details of two people who are willing to give a reference as to your suitability to teach English to international students. We will also need to conduct a DBS check on all staff who work with under18s so let me know if you already have a DBS and if you are willing to allow us to conduct a DBS check. Prior to the interview, we ask all candidates to conduct a short demo lesson of about 40-60 mins. You will be required to teach a small group of students or a One2One at a particular level. You will need to source material for this lesson, write a lesson plan and email us these in advance. The demo lesson may be online or face2face at ELH. We will arrange a day and time for your demo and, if teaching online, we will invite you to Zoom and make you a co-host so you can teach your demo lesson. The demo will be observed by one of our teacher trainers who can give feedback, if you like. Following this we shall conduct a face2face or online interview. You will hear back within 24 hours to let you know if we can offer you a teaching position. If you are interested, please let us know when you are available for a demo lesson and when you can be interviewed for a teaching position.
