First for Schools

What is First for Schools?

This is an exam preparation programme which allows 4 or more students to join lessons with a teacher to prepare for their B2 First for Schools exam. It is suitable for students who are under 18 years old and have reached CEFR B2 level or above.
Students must be of a similar age group ie

13 to 15 year olds
16 to 17 year olds

and book together to study on the same day/s and at the same time.
Student can choose to study face2face or live online and can book to study for 12 hours or more.
Students who want to book less than 12 hours may need to pay a higher rate per hour.

Our First for schools programme allows students to choose when they want to study and where. They can choose the days and times of their lessons and, if they study face2face, they can choose the location of their lessons. We can send an Elh teacher to teach the lessons at your school if this is what you prefer.

Students who join the First for schools face2face programme will study with a teacher in person either at English Language House in Central Milton Keynes or at a location of their choice. Students who join the First for s chools Live Online programme will study with a teacher via Zoom or Microsoft teams.

First for schools Face2Face lessons are mostly on weekday mornings between 9:00 to 13:00 or afternoons between 13:00 to 8:00 or on Saturdays between 10:00 and 13:00.

First for schools Live Online lessons are mostly on weekdays between 10:00 to 18:00 (London time) or on Saturdays between 9:00 to 13:00 (London time).

Other times may also be possible if there are spaces available

Minimum age: 13
Cost: £18 per person per hour
Minimum course length: 12 hours
(if students want to study less than 12 hours this may be possible but the cost per hour will be higher)
Minimum class size: 4
Maximum class size: 15
Lesson schedule:

The days and times of lessons will be arranged between the clients and Elh

Lessons for adults will usually be 90 mins or 120 mins each time.
Lessons for under16s will usually be 60 mins or 90 mins each time.
Study Mode: Face2Face

Variation in cost:
If students book less than 12 hours they will need to pay the higher rate of £25 per person per hour.
Where the location of lessons is outside Elh the cost of travel will be added to the overall course cost.

English level: B2 and above
Course name: First for Schools LO
Minimum age: 13
Cost: £15 per person per hour
Minimum course length: 12 hours
(if students want to study less than 12 hours this may be possible but the cost per hour will be higher)
Minimum class size: 4
Maximum class size: 15
Lesson schedule:

The days and times of lessons will be arranged between the clients and Elh

Lessons for adults will usually be 60 mins or 90 mins each time. Lessons for under16s will usually be 45mins or 60 mins or 90 mins each time.
Study Mode: Live Online

Variation in cost:
If students book less than 12 hours they will need to pay the higher rate of £22 per person per hour.

START DATES:
Most students start their programme on one of our term start dates.
However if students want to start on another date this may be possible so long as there are spaces available.

TOTAL COST:
A minimum of 4 students must book to study together in order to pay the price shown below.

First for Schools face2face x 12 hours = £216 per person + Coursebook fee + Exam Entry Fee (+ teacher travel costs if the location of lessons is outside Elh).
First for Schools live online x 12 hours = £180 per person + Coursebook fee + Exam Entry Fee

If you want to study for less than 12 hours please let us know. This may be possible although the cost per hour will be higher.
