ABOUT LIVE ONLINE TRAINING

WHAT IS LIVE ONLINE TRAINING?

Live Online training is training that takes place fully online. The majority of the training will take place synchronously in real time with trainers and learners participating in class on set days and times. There will also be asynchronous learning where learners will need to study and complete tasks in their own time outside of class times.

CPD TRAINING FOR TEACHERS LIVE ONLINE 

A small group of teachers will meet an  ELH teacher trainer live online for their training sessions. 
Teachers can choose to focus on any of the following sessions: 

• CPD and Teacher Training
• Bespoke teacher training and CPD​ 
• ​CPD/O1 - Teaching pupils with EAL needs in English speaking schools
• CPD/O2 - How subject teachers can address the needs of EAL pupils during their lessons in English speaking schools
• CPD/O3 - Needs of EAL learners preparing for national exams
• CPD/O4 - What International exams are suitable for EAL pupils
• CPD/O5 - Preparing pupils for the IELTS
• CPD/O6 - EAL needs of Juniors in English Speaking schools
• CPD/O7 - Techniques to use to aid understanding of English used during classroom teaching in English speaking schools

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A LIVE ONLINE LESSON?

Your teachers or teacher trainers will meet you Live Online and will teach the lesson via a Virtual Learning Platform. Students and teachers / teacher trainers will meet in a virtual online classroom on a set day and time and they will learn in real time either in a group with other students on on their own in a one2one lesson.

SYNCHRONOUS AND ASYNCHRONOUS LEARNING

• Synchronous Learning.

Live Online learning is synchronous; this means that the teacher and the student/s meet together at the same time online for the lesson. Learning takes place in real time with a teacher. Learning takes place on set days and times each week until student/s complete the course.  

• Asynchronous Learning: 

Students who use Moodle or an e-learning app study asynchronously; this means they log in and learn in their own time without a teacher.  Students can choose when they want to study and how often they study each week to complete their course.
